"The Tools for Teaching program has made it possible to entrench Leave No Trace standards into all the programs [at our nature center]. The grant has helped to raise awareness among staff, as well as visitors and members about the importance of maintaining the delicate balance between exploration in the outdoors and the need to protect and preserve sensitive areas."
- Tools for Teaching Grant recipient
In response to the number of requests from organizations in need of Leave No Trace materials, training and information, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics has established the Tools for Teaching Fund. Consideration will be given to grassroots, community-based groups who support Leave No Trace and whose main goal is to communicate outdoor skills and ethics to diverse audiences.
Grant recipients will receive assistance in the form of educational materials only. If you work with youth, please consider our Packing with PEAK grant.
Unfortunately the Center is not able to provide promotional items through this program (i.e. tee shirts, stickers, water bottles, mugs).
